We would like to congratulate Ruby Rees, who has recently been offered a trial with the England Karate Squad following a successful training camp with the national squad. She has dedicated her time to train and compete, becoming a black belt in 2020 despite the setbacks caused by the recent pandemic.
Ruby has shown great success in competitions, winning medals that include a double silver at the Central England Championships, a double gold at the Elite London International Competition and a gold at the Central England International Championships in which Ruby fought against many countries, ranging from Iceland to Scotland.
Ruby also coaches the next generation of karate students, volunteering her time to pass on her knowledge and expertise to young pupils. We are very proud of her achievements and in recognition of this Ruby has been awarded the Tor Bridge High Sports Tie.
