Level 3 Courses
Sixth Form students at Tor Bridge High have the opportunity to study a wide range of A level qualifications. Their programme of study can be tailored to suit their individual needs to ensure that they are completing a unique course combination that fits with their future aspirations. Throughout our Sixth Form there is the opportunity for students to extend their study within their existing subjects, such as Engineering, English, Science etc. or to decide to study a course that is entirely new to them, such as Law, Sociology or Psychology.
There are two Level 3 pathways that are available for study.
Pathway 1: A Level courses – Level 3 courses that provide students with the subject knowledge and entry requirements to enter into university or higher level apprenticeships. Subject choices include English Language & Literature, History, Law, Sociology, Biology and Art to name a few!
Pathway 2: A Level 3 BTEC programme – this provides a more hands on learning experience but provides student with the entry requirements for university or higher level apprenticeships. Subjects include Business, Engineering, Travel & Tourism, Sport and many more.
Pathway 3: A Pre-Apprenticeship Vocational option – this option is for students who wish to study more practical courses and subjects which provide them with the skills required to progress to apprenticeship courses. Subjects include Childcare, Uniformed Public Services, Health and Social Care and Beauty Therapy amongst others.
Through their Sixth Form studies, students will traditionally study three A Level subjects over a 2-year period. Many of our students progress onto Higher Education, choosing to read a range of degrees at universities across the country while others enter employment or advanced level apprenticeships.
Our past students like to keep in touch through our Alumni Association and are now boasting some incredible professional careers all over the world. From doctors to teachers, trainee psychologists to architects many of our students have gone on to excel within their chosen industry.
